Materials as for pencil, pastel and pen and wash. Please also bring your own sketches and large (20 x 15 cm) colour photos, considering a wide range of approaches in perspective, including close-up, looking up and down. Your own photos please, not from books or the internet! Find out how to book.

Dennis's art courses are not only structured and thematic but also stimulate students, once they've acquired key skills and techniques, to be receptive when exploring the creative process, enabling imaginative and expressive work.

Students, other than beginners who work with set pieces to develop skills and techniques, are encouraged to work from life wherever possible via observational drawing and painting and / or simple 'point and shoot' photography - not from the internet! Creative DSLR photo skills can be taught - overriding 'auto' and exploring S/TV, AV, ISO, exposure compensation etc.

Calligraphy for beginners tuition available in all classes.

Plus an opportunity to develop your portfolio for art college; advice and guidance on A-level, degree and postgraduate courses.
