If you love drama, making new friends and are aged between 7 and 11, then our youth theatre is for you! It’s a friendly group that meets once a week to gain and develop new skills whilst having lots of fun.
Each week we start with games and warm up activities. We work in both small and large groups to create scenes and stories, showing each other what’s been created at the end of the class.
Each school term, we create a brand new production. You’ll work with a director to devise the whole show from scratch, and perform it at HAC to your friends and family. By taking part, you'll use your own imagination to create brand new performances, meet lots of new people and make new friends, build your confidence and learn some new skills!
Previously we have created our own play about travelling through time, and a special walkabout play to perform at the Under 1 Sky festival using a giant snake puppet we have made!
We asked some of the current youth theatre members what they liked most about the group. This is what they had to say!
"Acting, play, making friends and building confidence”
“What I like most at HAC is playing games and creating plays”
"Meeting friends, playing games, making up a play, coming up with ideas and having fun”
The group meets on Tuesday at HAC from 5pm - 6.30pm. Places can be booked through the HAC Box Office on 020 3773 7161 or from our classes and workshops listing (select 'Drama & Theatre' from the drop down menu).
If you have any questions about the group or our older group for young people aged 11-16, please contact us.
